Remove package-based install documentation or update for focal?
At the start of the user guide, section 1.1 focuses on installing Nektar++ from Debian/Ubuntu packages. Am I correct that since switching to the Docker-based CI setup, the functionality to build Ubuntu/Debian packages has (for now at least) been removed from the repository?
I see that the stated repository URLs in section 1.1 are still active but if it's correct that there is no longer a configuration in place to create new packages, these are not going to get updated, unless someone is managing them manually?
If this is being kept, then we should ideally update it to include Focal (20.04) packages. While we are no longer supporting Ubuntu 14.04 out of the box because its packaged CMake version is too old after the shift to 3.5.1+, there's no reason why 14.04 packages can't still be built on a 14.04 machine that has a newer CMake version installed manually - this would help to retain some support for older distros.
So, which of the following is the preferred route forward for this?:
- Should section 1.1 be removed from the manual?
- Should an update be made to add 20.04 packages, if these can still be built?
- Should this just be left as it is for now?
