nektar 4.4.1: make -j breaks the compiling node
I was compiling nektar 4.4.1 using intel compiler and make -j
. The computing node is running Centos 7.3 with 2x 16-core Intel 6130 CPU, and no other jobs are running at the same time. Sometimes, the cluster breaks in the middle of compilation, and needs rebooting. By "cluster breaks", I mean it is no longer responsive, and cannot accept any other command like ssh
.
The error message seems to come from intel icpc, saying something like icpc fatal error: terminating by a kill signal
. It usually breaks in the middle or nearer to the end of compilation, but sometimes I can still get it compiled using make -j
without breaking the node. There are 96 Gb memory on the node, so I guess it is not a memory issue. Is there any suggestions/hints?
Thank you!
